Film producer
captivates school
drama department ...
Rob Roy is one of the
best known and most popular Scottish films of recent years.
Indeed, with a budget of $30 million, it remains the most
expensive film shot entirely in Scotland.
The
film's producer, Peter Broughan, won much praise for piecing together the complex
jigsaw which eventually turned the initial idea into a
reality and a critical success. It took a great deal
of hard work and a lot of confidence but Peter gained great
satisfaction from the final result and the response of
audiences.

Drama students and their
teachers at St Mungo's Academy in Glasgow sat captivated
during a recent visit by Peter as he talked about Rob Roy
and the other films he has worked on during his career.
They also seized the opportunity to put questions to a
producer who has linked up with some of the top names in the
film industry.
Afterwards, the teachers
confirmed their students had been inspired by the session
and said how grateful they were to Peter for taking the time
to visit. Remarkably, they had never thought to invite
him to the school before because they had no idea he was a
former pupil until AchieversUK arranged Peter's return trip. |
