Debating

It helps young people if they can learn to speak in public. Carnoustie High therefore encourages pupils to participate in debates. Indeed, the school reached the 2006 national final of the Law Society of Scotland annual Debating Tournament!  S6 pupils, Anna Forrest & Sarah Nash made their teachers and parents very proud with a great performance in the main chamber of the Scottish Parliament!

Sarah

Innes

Police

Sarah decided on a career in the police when she was in her final year at school. She has never regretted it.  Her work is varied and she enjoys helping the public in many ways. Sarah also likes being part of a hard-working team who help each other.  She believes it is very important to uphold the law and finds it is very interesting to deal with those people who break it.

Jackie

Taylor

Aid Worker

Many former pupils of Carnoustie High go into jobs that help others.  Jackie is a good example.  She has spent almost 10 years in Nepal teaching children who otherwise would not go to school.  Jackie has also worked in Asia for UNICEF, the European Union and the United Nations.  Many people in Scotland have helped Jackie's work by sponsoring a child for the education project in Nepal.
