After school, he became a journalist before opting for a spell at drama school.  Stuart then joined theatre companies around the UK including the world-famous Royal Shakespeare Company. He is now well known as a TV actor in many popular shows such as The Bill and Casualty, and is be remembered by many as a presenter of the BBC's Playschool.

David

Wilton

Dance

Former pupils of Forfar Academy display a wide and range of talents. For example, David is a World Champion Highland Dancer having recently won his second title at the World Games held annually in Scotland.  Astonishingly, he also plays the bagpipes at world championship level.  Of course, such success only comes from countless of hours of practice and hard work added to a lot of natural talent.

John &
David

Maxwell

David & John were brothers whose great achievement was to help Britain and its allies win the First World War. Sadly, both paid the ultimate price. When he was only 23 John was killed at the Battle of Gallipoli (1915) in Turkey and was buried there. David also showed great dedication to duty and indeed was awarded the Military Cross twice for his incredible bravery. However in 1918 at the age of 28, he died fighting in France where he was later buried.  There is no doubt that the Maxwell family, like many others families from Angus, paid a terrible price to win the freedom of their country and its people - a freedom we all enjoy to this day.
