Morag

Mansley

Computing

In the modern world of work, IT skills are very important so schools do their best to prepare pupils for this.  Webster's High is doing a good job judging by the success of former pupil, Morag.  Her command of the subject is so good she was chosen to represent Scotland in the final of the 'A' Star Awards - a competition to find the UK's best female computing students.

Louise

Brown

Nurse

Louise realised a childhood dream when she gained a place on a nursing course. She is now in the third year of her training and has passed all her assessments so far. Louise is looking forward to working in Accident & Emergency (A&E) as she will discover whether TV's Casualty is accurate!  She eventually hopes to become a hospital ward sister.

John

Hamilton

Law

A good number of Webster's High pupils have followed a career in the law.  John is a good example. He studied law at university before joining a law firm to complete his training. He has since gained experience of many aspects of the Scottish legal system.  John now puts this knowledge to good use as Senior Partner in the law firm, MacLean and Lawson, Solicitors.

Anne

Begg

Politics

Many former pupils will remember Ms Begg who taught English & History at the school during the 1980s.  Anne is now one of the 646 Members of Parliament (MPs) in the UK.  She therefore sits in the House of Commons and has a say in the laws which affect the whole country.  Anne is a member of the Labour Party and was elected in 1997 as the MP to represent the people of Aberdeen South. Sarah

Police

Sarah decided on a career in the police when she was in her final year at school. She has never regretted it.  Her work is varied and she enjoys helping the public in many ways. Sarah also likes being part of a hard-working team who help each other.  She believes it is very important to uphold the law and finds it is very interesting to deal with those people who break it.

David

Hogg

Television

David may not be a famous television star but he certainly made an impact when he appeared on the popular TV show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.  David not only coped with the pressure of answering questions in front of millions of people, but also showed he knows a lot about a wide variety of subjects by getting enough answers correct to win prize money worth £64,000!
