Natasha
(Star Pupil) |
|
Sport |
|
Pupils from Drumchapel High show a wide and
impressive range of talents. For example, Natasha is
the 2006 Under 14 Scottish Schools Table Tennis
Champion! She has also represented Scotland.
This is a terrific
honour which of course did not come easily. As
any sportsperson knows, such success only comes from hours of practice
as well as natural talent. |

families believe learning is important and
it is therefore no surprise that many former pupils
have achieved a lot in the world of education. Jim
is a good example. After going to university and
then studying to become a teacher, he has enjoyed a
long and successful career in the classroom.
Jim has helped many young people not only pass exams, but also enjoy school!

John
Smith |
|
Soldier |
|
John
was one of many whose great achievement was to help
Britain and its allies win the First World War.
Sadly, he paid the ultimate price as a report in a
local newspaper in 1916 tells: "Corporal J. Smith has been
killed in action near Somme in France. He was
educated in the local school and before being called up was
a farm labourer. He was
19 years of age."

Susan
Jones |
|
Engineer |
|
In the
workplace, people must be prepared to re-train and
keep their skills up-to-date. Susan is a good
example. She first served an apprenticeship as an
engineer and has since trained in computer studies.
She enjoys using
modern technology in her work. In fact, Susan
now trains other engineers in the use of Computer Aided Design (CAD)
at work.

Mary
McKay |
|
Politics |
|
MPs and MSPs may be better known to the general
public, but local councillors such as Mary also take
important decisions that have a major impact on the
lives of local people. Each councillor is elected to
represent an area called a 'ward'. Mary works hard
to represent the interests of the people who live in
the ward which elected her.
