Sarah
Cassidy

|
While
she was at All Saints, Sarah dreamed of a career in music.
She achieved her ambition when she joined the
all-girl band, Lemonescent. Before long the
group were performing in front of 100,000 and
supporting some of the biggest names in popular
music. Sarah and the rest of the band have
also been happy to support an anti-drugs campaign
which aims to teach young people about the dangers
of illegal drugs. |

Louise
Craig
Debating |
|
While studying in her sixth year at All Saint's,
Louise was elected Chair of Glasgow's Secondary
Pupil Council - the voice of the city's 30,000
secondary school pupils. Louise says, "I was
brought up to speak my mind and stand up for what I
believe in." The 60-strong Council deals with
important
topics of great interest to pupils. These include youth crime, leisure facilities and
careers advice. |

John
Smith

|
John

Scottish Space School in 2004. The

Caroline
Mary McKie
Artist |
|
Some
former pupils will remember Caroline from her spell
as an art teacher at All Saints in the late 1990s.
She is now a successful artist who still works in
education but also accepts private commissions.
Caroline's paintings have been widely exhibited. She
is an abstract painter who draws on her inner
emotions and the environment around to create mood
and atmosphere rather than realistic detail. |
|

Burton
O'Brien
Sport |
|
Burton
showed great promise at school and made his debut
for St Mirren while still an S4 pupil. He even
turned down his boyhood hero, Kenny Dalglish, who
wanted him to sign for Newcastle because he felt he
should finish at school first - a decision he is
sure was the correct one. Burton then signed
for Blackburn before coming back to Scotland and
winning a CIS Cup winners medal at Hampden
with Livingston. |

All Saints
Secondary
2003
Award |
|
In
2003, All Saints won the Daily Record's Schools
For All award for its groundbreaking work in
helping all its pupils, including asylum-seekers,
become part of the school community. New pupils may
arrive in school traumatised and frightened, and
with little or no English but are soon joining in
the playground banter. A peer support group run by
older students also helps younger children make new
friends. |
|

Tabish
Dass
Student |
|
Tabish came to Glasgow to escape religious
persecution in Pakistan. He knew very little English
but stunned teachers and fellow pupils with his
academic ability. He fitted in so well, he was even
voted the school's Vice Captain. Thanks to an
anonymous benefactor, Tabish is now studying Law and
Politics at university. He says, "The amount of help
and support I got from the All Saints teachers was
amazing." |
