Many
people believe Pat Crerand is one of the best
footballers Scotland has ever produced. He made his
name firstly at Celtic as a competitive right-half
who could pass the ball wonderfully well. Matt
Busby signed him for Manchester Utd and he went on
to play in the great side that won the 1968 European
Cup. |

Environment |

Chris
fell in love with the Amazon during a
round-the-world trip. So he set up the Amazon
Association, an ecological group which aims to
preserve one of the world's largest natural
habitats. Now he lives in the Amazon among the
Caboclo tribe with monkeys and crocodiles for
neighbours ... and loves it! |

Holyrood NLC has produced many talented scientists
who have enjoyed careers in industry, research and
universities. David is a good example. He studied
Chemistry at Glasgow University and then completed
his PhD at the University of Southampton. He then
worked in the USA before returning to the UK. He is
now head of Organic Chemistry at St Andrews
University. |

McFadden
Acting |
Joe is
one of Britain's best-known actors, He says
Holyrood played a large part in his early success:
"As the school had a good reputation for drama, I
auditioned for a part of a young boy in Taggart". He got the
part and a successful career on stage and screen
followed.

Margaret
McCafferty
Politics |
Margaret worked for Scottish Gas before
going to university to become a languages teacher.
She spent many happy years teaching while also
developing her interest in politics. In 1995
Margaret was elected Glasgow City Councillor
for the Battlefield Ward - the district she is still
very proud to represent. (more)
