the best-known faces in Scottish football due to his
regular appearances on TV as a football analyst.
Gordon was also a talented striker who played for
Rangers Kilmarnock and Brighton. (more)

A
famous PE teacher among pupils from the Academy as
well as a part-time player with Kilmarnock FC. He
was said to have the hardest shot in Scottish
football in his day. He had Gordon Smith
(left) both as a pupil and a team-mate!

The
Academy is proud of many pupils who achieve great
things in a wide variety of sports and activities.
For example, one youngster made the news when she
took one of the top prizes in a national art
competition in 2005. |

Music
is an important subject at the Academy and the
school was therefore very proud when William Brannan
won the North Ayrshire Young Singer of the Year
Award and went to join the National Youth Choir
of Scotland. |

Smith |

Soldier |
|
John's achievement was to help
Britain and its allies win World War I.
Sadly, he paid the ultimate price for his country
when he died at the Battle of the Somme in France.
John was
18 years old.

Daniel
is one of the many talented sports stars from the
Academy. He has represented North Ayrshire at
athletics and has now gone on to the Scottish School
of Sport in Glasgow with hopes of pursuing a career
in athletics. |

One of only 25 students across Scotland selected for
the Scottish Space School 2007. This involved
a visit to NASA headquarters in the USA where Tony saw the
Space
Shuttle and worked with NASA astronauts and scientists.

Business |
|
A talented
footballer who captained Scotland Schools. Robert
has gone on to show his talent in the world of
business by building up his own company with over
200 employees. Of course, creating jobs for
other people is a great achievement. |

Louise
Brown |

Nurse |
|
Realised a childhood dream
by gaining a place
on a nursing course. Now in her third year and
greatly enjoying the course. Louise eventually hopes to become a hospital ward sister.
