has enjoyed a remarkably varied career since leaving
the Academy. He became a football coach and then
trained as a teacher. After this he turned to acting
and appeared in a number of top TV shows. He has

Edgar
was briefly a pupil at the Academy in 1815. Few of
his teachers can have realised that this young boy
would go on to become one of America's greatest ever

Sadly, he paid the ultimate price for his country
when he died at the Battle of the Somme in France.
John was very bright and had been training as a
